5 Years Ago...

5 years ago today, we were doing this....

5 years ago today, we were vowing to take care of each other, through thick & thin.

It hasn't been perfect, but it's been very - very good.  We fight (because we're both stubborn, and just have to be right!), we laugh like crazy (usually at ourselves!), but most importantly - we love each other fiercely.

We protect each other - we support each other - we encourage each other - and when it seems like nobody else is looking out for us, well...we have each other.

Jake knew - long before I did, that we were meant for each other.  He knew long before we even started dating that one day we would be married.  And he stayed persistent while waiting patiently for me to come around.  I'm so glad he waited.  I'm so glad he didn't move on.  I'm so glad he knew.

Today...well, today will be another day that we'll never, ever forget.

Today is our benefit to help us bring home our boy.

Boy oh boy, what a day.

Never - EVER imagined that this is what we would be doing on our 5th Wedding Anniversary.  Never.  What a beautiful journey the Lord has walked us through.  What a fantastic life story He has written for us.  I wouldn't have it any other way.
