After eating breakfast we watched Baby Signing Time! It was the quietest half hour since the orphanage...so he must have liked it :) He tried to mimic some of the signs, and didn't take his eyes off the screen.
He's been continuing to explore the apartment, and he's figured out what 'no' means :) (We've stopped using 'nyet' completely, just like we've stopped using 'Anton'.) But overall he's doing well. He seems to stay away from drawers and sharp edges...and when he gets close and hears 'no' - he either slowly backs away, or laughs at us. One of the two :) He's not too sure about that kid on the other side of the glass...it seems like he's always copying :)
Today we plan to walk to Independence Square so Carter can have a few photos of himself in his own city, and we might hit up the 'Native' buffet, too. Even though the food was cold last time, the soup was still good - and we REALLY don't want to leave this place without trying borsch!
Later, if all goes well, Jake should be going to pick up Carter's passport this afternoon! Pray that we get it by tonight...!!
And Carter says: lwiskjqougehjnfhsdjkn,klkmkvn,.zxk.f,vowifowkdl :)
One Thing I Know For Sure: TGIF! Only a few days left!
LOVE his new haircut!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are setting an awesome example to others...especially those considering adoption! It has been an honor following your journey through this blog. Thank you Ashley! We are just so excited to meet Carter. :o)
ReplyDeleteLove, Mikki
Falling in love with that little boy!! He's absolutely adorable! Praying you'll get your passport tonight.
ReplyDeleteYAY for Baby Signing Time!!! Love the haircut too!
ReplyDeleteBaby Signing Time totally captures Claire too! It's what I use if I need a 30 minute break. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG, I love him... he is so cute! And a smartie too!
ReplyDeleteI fear I may be late in this comment... did you already try the borscht? I hope you put a little sour cream in it.
Awwwww I just love him... That video is just too cute!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great video...I love it. What a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteJust now catching this...that video needs to be sent to "America's Funniest Home Videos", even if it wasn't taken in America and you aren't home...yet. It made me laugh out loud - your little guy is so intrigued with that other toddler in the mirror!
ReplyDeleteGlad things are going well - wishing you traveling mercies and blessings as you make your way home.
